Part Seventeen - The investigation

I don’t know how much you all remember about what happend after Michael was declaered dead the rumour machine started to work big time. Emediatly their were talks again about Michael being addictid to medicine. Also talks about that Michael was dead because of an demorol od travelled the World with the speed of light. Pretty fast after his death coronor spokesman Craig Harvey claimed “No foul play involved” while Michael’s sister LaToya and Michael’s father Joe claimed “murder”. As time went by it turned out that Craig Harvey jumped the gun by saying “No foul play involved”

Just let us take a quick look at what exactly it was that Craig Harvey said on june 26th, after a three hour autopsy: “There had been no indication of any external trauma or foul play.” Than he also said that the cause of death had been deferred (here’s a link to the first death cirtificate released on juli 7th http://extratv.warnerbros.com/images/news/0707deathcert.jpg ). He explained it this way: "It means that the medical examiner ordered additional testing such as toxicology and other studies.” He also told that it would take between four to six weeks before they would have the results. After that he made this comment: "We know he was taking some prescription medication." He didn’t say anything about what kind of medication he was refering to. But the media jumped on this bandwagon really fast and they used the statement Brian Oxmann gave them while he came out of the hospital. He implied that Michael was taking painkillers and that it was something that concerned him. Brian Oxmann said: "It caused him great pain. He just didn't like to feel such discomfort. He started taking pain medication. It became part of his life." So with the start of Brian Oxmann’s statement the insinuations of Michael the drug addict began again.

I personally have always wondered about the start of the investigation. Why didn’t the police go to Michael’s house at once and seal it all of? Expecially after Conrad Murray didn’t want to sign the death certificate and went missing in action. I mean this man was an eyewitness at the least, wouldn’t it feel strange to you if he was gone? Wouldn’t they need his statement to be able to say if there was foul play involved or not? That alone would tell me something here was not right, and it would be reason enough to start investegating it as a homicide at once.

So what changed their minds to go from “No foul play” towards “Homicide”? What kind of things happend between june 26th after that first statement and after august 28th? Did they find evidence in Conrad Murray’s car that got towed away at Michael’s house on june 26th? Did nurse Lee’s statements in the media put the trail towards propofol? Or did CM just tell the police about the propofol?

- On June 27th according to the search warrant and affidavit Conrad Murray and his Lawyers talked to the LAPD You can see that at page 18 line 5. Conrad Murray talked that day about giving Michael propofol
- On June 27th the police said they impounded Conrad Murray’s car. The police also searched Michael’s house.
- On June 28th the word came out that the family wanted a private autopsy
- On June 29th the Judge C.Olmedo issued a search warrant for Michael’s house, and the LAPD found different kind of meds in the house.
- On June 29th nurse Lee started to talk to the press and mentioned propofol.
- On Juli 2nd the reports came out that the DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) would join the Los Angeles Police Department’s in the investegation into the death of Michael Jackson and probe whether prescription drugs might have played a role.
- On July 10th just 3 days after the coronor’s spokesmann told the whole World that there was no foul play Police chief William Bratton said he was still waiting about the cause of death from the coronor.
- On July 22nd a raid took place at Conrad Murray Houston office.
- On July 22nd the police went to nurse Lee to pick up Michael’s medical records.
- On July 28th a raid took place at Conrad Murray Las Vegas home.
- On August 19th mr Ed Winter visited Arnold Klein’s office at Beverly Hills.
- On August 21st a raid took place at Mickey Fine Pharmacy
- On Augus 28th Michaels death has been ruled a homicide.

So we can clearly see in here that Conrad Murray was the one mentioning propofol to the LAPD before nurse Lee mentioned it to the media. And i wonder about why did the nurse feel the need to tell the media about propofol. Was it because she didn’t know that there already was a lead to the propofol and it was for her a way to help to get them on track? Or was it because she knew propofol was involved and wanted to make Conrad Murray look more guilty? The funny thing about this is that apearently no bother bothered to check up the date Conrad Murray mentioned the use of propofol to the LAPD and it looks like somebody is really doing a good job at making it look like nurse Lee put the LAPD on the propofol track.

Whatever it was in that short period that made the LAPD change their mind, finally we got to see some action that some kind of investigation was going on. The police went to Michael’s house and there were raids at CM’s office and house, raids at dr Klein’s office, raids at nurse Lee’s office. I put as many dates up as I could find to get a clearer picture about the timeline, although i’m sure i must have missed some things, i hope you will forgive that i was not able to find all the dates.

They asked the Jackson family to not talk about what happend to Michael. And so far the family exept for Joe and Latoya haven’t made much noise about what happend to their brother. Don’t get me wrong i don’t expect them to say things regarding the investigation, because whatever is being investigated could be japordized if people say how it is going. But i for one sure would have love to see them stand up more for Michael, in public, instead of that we see them tumbling over eachother to fight about the will. The reason for that is to make sure people start to see that it is really a murder that took place and not an overdose or suicide or natural death that killed Michael. And although most of the family is very silent about what happend, i do know that they blame Conrad Murray for Michael’s death.

Now back to the investigation again. If i remember correctly the death certificate with the coronor’s findings ruling about homicide was out there on august 29th. Another strange thing happend here. The only ones who picked it up from the media were the tabloids. There were hardly any legit media sourses saying a word about Michael’s death was being ruled a homicide. They just continued with the addiction story. Even i have sent the documents that were released on august 29th to Dutch newsoutlets and they just ignored the whole thing. Until Januari 10th 2010 finally legit media outlets started to say that there were new findings in the Michael Jackson case. But they all pretendet they had just gotten these reports. So they pretty much ignored the fact that this case was a homicide case since august 28th 2009, and maybe even before that.

Let’s take a look at the raids that happend. We could al see it on tv what was happening. Now how strange is that? The press was just waiting for all the units involved to arive at the scene. And it was all live on national and international newsoutlets. The thing i don’t understand is why was chief coronor Ed Winter doing there. Isn’t it just a police job to make sure they get the files the coronor wants? And if Ed Winter wanted to just talk to all these people why did the camera’s had to be there?

Meanwhile 2 autopsy reports have leaked. One was really soon after Michael’s murder, on june 29th it was the first leak, giving a horrible impression about Michael and i won’t talk about what it said because pretty soon the coronor came out and denied that that report was real. Than on october 1st there was a newspaper report about another autopsy report, a doctor who was not involved in the autopsy explained the way he looked at this report. This report claimed Michael was in pretty good shape. I don’t know if this report is real or not because i haven’t seen it, but so far in contradiction to the first leaked report there was nobody from the authorities around to say this report was false.

Now from the end of august it started to get really silent. You could even say the silence is deafening. On november 18th the police asked a Judge to keep the police records sealed until januari 18th 2010 and the Judge granted that request. Many fans were waiting for januari 18th to come and see what would happen, but nothing happend. We haven’t heard a single word nor have we seen an arrest so far. Since september we heard the same thing all over again that the police is finishing the investigation and handing the case over to the D.A’s office and that we would soon see an arrest, and so far this case hasn’t been taken to the D.A’s office yet and no arrest has been made.
